New Dreams of New decade

Many are cursing 2020 to be bad year but let us not forget that there are many manmade disasters waiting for us in coming time, it's us who are damaging environment and causing problems. My vision is about what I wish to see in coming decade, here is list of few things from my point of view:

1. Mass transportation just like escalators: Yes! If we can use constant moving escalators, why can't we make a mode of transportation which is personal and at the same time for mass. Constant moving bubbles/cabins/seats/or anything comfortable keeps moving on a track and people just pick it from their stand. No need for ticket as it can use google maps and based on distance travelled your money can be deducted from your e-wallet. This will decrease congestion, save time and if we use solar and other non conventional energy to run it, it will save huge amount of fossil fuel and help to protect environment. Less vehicles will also bring noise pollution down by significant numbers, less chance of accident, less traffic vigilance is required.

2. Free and restriction-less education for: While we are crying for no focus on innovation, reduction in ethical practices, running after short term goals. All these are caused by highly expensive education. Either one can not afford it so they just go for whatever they can have and misses big opportunities or some after spending big chunk of money thinks on how they can earn it back by any means. A person from middle class just spends his or her whole life to make sure to earn that much by which their future generation can have enough education so that they can continue this cycle. If education becomes essential means of living one can save that money and can invest in new ventures be it innovation or art.

3. Breakthrough in food supply chain and farming techniques: Weather dependent farming must be modified now, changing weather patterns will only increase our problems to fight starvation, time to develop affordable and easy methods of farming to grow crops without being dependent on weather. This must be supported by efficient supply chains as truck load of food stuck won't serve any purpose if people at other end can't get it.

4. Automobile/aviation engine modification: The way electronics and IT sector has advanced no other sector has advanced at that pace. In engines we are still using century old technology and no change is visible on horizon as of now. This is one of the biggest challenge I am seeing for our future.

5. Energy generation and reliable alternate to fossil fuels: While on one hand mobility has expanded our horizons greatly and directly or indirectly supported many innovations, it has cost us our environment and natural balance. This is high time that we find reliable source of energy to replace fossil fuels. One day it will dry up and we have to forcefully find the alternate, at that time it will create havoc while if we prepare from now there will be no panic in future. Solar, atomic, wind, tidal all been tested yet none of these are able to replace current source of energy. Some serious efforts needed.

6. Lab on moon: Since childhood we have read storied about future human colonies on mars or moon. Some claims been made to achieve this by 2020, well this is still far from reality and part of science fiction only. We are constantly growing and to rely on one planet for survival of our race would be foolish, better to find a way to increase our footprint and make plans for longer survival. Viruses, threat of asteroids, blast of supernova near to us can make us extinct so our focus must be on expanding our presence beyond earth and may be target should be to go beyond solar system before this century ends.

7. Health, Hygiene and Water: Nothing more to write about it, just feel that each living being on this planet has right to have these things.

8. Branched offices and work from home: As the current pandemic has made many of us to follow work from home, I think it's time to make it a normal practice for many jobs. For those jobs which needs small teams to work together there can be localized small offices rather than giant campus. This will reduce transportation, land space requirements and managing hygiene and maintenance. In metros and super metros it's too difficult to travel to offices and people are losing their precious time in travelling too and fro. If such system being adopted it can reduce traffic in a significant way.

9. Infrastructure revolution: Majority of the world is still following century old construction techniques which are costly, time consuming and bad for environment. Affordable, long lasting and sustainable way of construction is what we need right now. We should look back in past and learn from ancient civilizations which made monuments which survived hundreds of years and are still strong and steady. We can't just put more and more concrete on the surface and made it barren, we should follow the past in this case.

 10. Change in point of view: If we want to survive as race than in this decade we must start the process of identify all humans as earthen intelligent race and must look beyond from silly disputed and prevent such events. If we want to expand ourselves beyond solar system by the end of this century then we must think about common protocol and work together. If it becomes race among nations just like we have seen for Moon and Mard landings then there's nothing to gain. I hope this decade provide much needed maturity to so called global powers and they should learn to work with other nations to build a global alliance with common goal.

These are the points which I think are important for this decade and may change the world from what we know today. I am sure there will be many pleasant surprises for us and we will see more and more progress and more sensible version of humanity in times to come!

The Indian Peaceloving Paradox

What is the best way to destroy someone?: Physical assault? - No, Make someone bankrupt? - No. Best way is to take away his beliefs and hope. Hope has remained key success factor in human history. Hope made humans survive the worst times. For Indians it has been the key factor to make us hopeless, negative and over preaching. We face threats militarily, culturally and economically yet we sing the songs of peace making. Such paradox can work in India only, where we do have one of the strongest army in the world yet we are hell bent in making peace even with those who are killing our people daily. At one hand we talk lot about peace, our politicians and so called human right activists preach a lot about Gandhian way of non violence and same people walk under the shadow of full fledged security cover. That means either you don't believe in Gandhi and you just preach hollow or you are afraid that no one believes you. In both cases one thing comes out very clear that there is nothing like Gandhian non violence in reality. I will trust into that when all those who are preaching it daily comes out without any security, they leave their lavish villa and start living like a real common man till then I will follow the path of practical approach where it is very clear that one should protect his life and assets at any cost, it is basic survival instinct planted by nature itself, Gandhian philosophy is against the nature and trying to follow it any how has cost us badly (e.g. divided nation, lost land, losing over table talks after military victory, rise of terror and violence in each corner of nation and hotbed of corruption), all these examples are enough to prove that the way of Gandhi and Nehru has not lead us anywhere except failures and blunders so why to follow them still? Well this is the core issue we fear to be labelled as aggressors, we want someone else to fight on our behalf so we can sit inside our homes or do some violence against our own police but we never want violence with nations which are openly threatening us. Earlier we used to say harsh words in return after terror attacks, now we wait for some big attack to target terrorists but our systems don't want to pre-empt and eliminate the threat before it creates chaos. As we are saying that in new India we want new model of working, I want to add that in new India we must learn new ideals and say goodbye to failed idea of too much peace loving image. Only this is the way to come out of this paradox or else we will be thrown our of our own land.

New Education policy: Need to induct real life topics in curriculum!!!

Let me start with an example first: While standing in a line at bank to deposit money, there was a girl standing just ahead of me and she was there to deposit cheque. The girl was wearing uniform of an MBA institute which means that she has had good academic education, when it was her turn she has given the cheque to teller and the person on the counter asked her that she has to attach slip with it before depositing, the girl went back to the desk where slips are kept, she looked utterly confused about what to fill inside those boxes, a person who was standing there told her to fill with account number, now more interesting thing, the girl called to someone (most probably the person who gave the cheque) that please give your account number while she was supposed to put her own which was again corrected by teller. Reason to start with this example is that our youth which gets through good academic education, many time fails to work on real life things. Ask them to 1. Go to GPO and do speedpost, sending register AD or 2. Going for routine bank work or 3. How to invest money e.g. SIP, shares, equity and mutual fund (specially science students), calculating taxes or 4. Basic legal terms, filing income tax return, purchasing stamp paper even. Yes they learn it but it is after they come into field and it takes few years to make them aware about all these things. Many of you will say that we know all these things but here question is that do you really believe that an engineer knows it all just after passing out? My answer is no in majority of the cases. So this is the problem statement, now what's the solution? Well as government is amending education policy after almost three decades I wish that they include such topics in the curriculum so that it becomes part of routine. What if government doesn't do that? Well in that case the God made teachers whom we call parents have that responsibility to teach their children about all these things. If we can teach our children to use laptop and smartphones, we must take responsibility to make them aware about all these things which are part of day to day life. Youth is aware of which web series on which platform or how to register for an event of comedian/singer but they don't know about filling up form for train reservation or not even meaning of various terms after you book a train ticket. Time to give importance to basic social discipline, laws which can be useful in day to day life and the things which I have mentioned earlier as we are not working in an absolute environment where we are supposed to work only with one subject but we have to deal with many things at time and better to prepared during our years of academic education. I wish to know your views into it and let's try to spread this message that much that it reaches to authorities and they give their time to think about it. As always I am waiting for your suggestions!!!

Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir: Getting back through war or pressure games?

So many talks going around now a days about PoJK, especially after remarks from current Home minister. He mentioned PoJK twice in parliament one time during debate on abrogation of Article 370 and 35A and second time yesterday referring how we share 106 Km long border with Afghanistan through PoJK. Any reference made in Parliament by ruling HM is definitely carries a message. I am putting my opinion about how we should take back PoJK!
While many of us think about war we see it as just few shots fired across and that's it but war is fought through many channels, involves many layers and costs more than we can imagine tangibly and intangibly. For a developing nation like us war should always come last on cards. Many will ask that then how we claim to take back our territory illegally occupied by Pakistan? Answer is simple for those who understand the dynamics of global politics, diplomacy and war games. So which are the options we have on cards? I am just putting few which I think will clarify our position as nation and which are most suitable and which options are not so good for us.
1. All out war: Many in general always thinks about all out war with Pakistan can only be the option to end the menace on our western border. Well this option was good till 1984 when Pak was not having nuclear arsenal. Even post Balakot strikes Pak remained silent as India declared that it was non military operation meaning that it was just on terror camps and has nothing to do with Pak as a nation, this was the reason behind silence from Pak and just little sortie on second day we have seen. In situation of all out war this nation can go to any extent if they find themselves in losing situation (Which is inevitable). Also to note that China after seeing losing grip may open eastern front which is not good at all for our strategic interests. This war may wipe out Pak completely but the cost we have to pay is very huge indeed far far huge than we can even imagine. Loss of millions of lives and economical backwardness will put us 2-3 decade behind other nations. Also to add to this is that even if we get back PoJK it might be still infected with radical jihadists, this will only add to our problems. So war as of now is not a good option to go with.
2. Economic pressure, trade sanctions: In current scenario no nation can hold too long with weaker economy, especially when country is made upon utopian dreams and got nothing even after 7 decades. Nightmare of Pakistan is same. They also know that they survived this long only because of heavy loans they got to create hurdles for India, as big section of world wants to keep India as developing nation and busy in fights. This is not conspiracy theory, this is proven fact. Even Brits had same vision when they had given more air to the idea of Pakistan. So back to current scenario, growing power and lucrative market tags for India going into our favor and at the same time this is the scenario which Pak never wants to see. If we are successful in squeezing our enemy economically it will simply go back to original idea of Pakistan which is hardcore islamic state and that would be the moment we can start playing our diplomatic games.
3. Diplomatic channels and strategic pressure: This is the way forward in current scenario. Abrogation of 370 and 35A, Citizenship amendment bill and fresh elections in UT of J&K will give some tough times to Pak army as their real character will come out in front of common Pakistani, this will give boost to freedom movement based on racial identity e.g. Balochs, Sindhis, Pashtuns, Muhajirs, etc. All of them asking for their own separate state which is big plus for us. Along with few strikes from us to the terror infrastructure will open up all fissures in Paki state which will lead to complete disintegration. This will create domino effect and with lesser fight we can easily get back PoJK. Another advantage in this process is that there will be no direct aggression with any other state, this will create more pressure on Pakistan psychologically as they have habit to rely on someone so when they find themselves into such condition their top brass will rub like headless chickens and that will be the best time for India to give a surgical blow.  This is slow process but results achieved through this are sustainable and we have lesser loss in this.
In conclusion I would like to tell that war games are not just visible through number of soldiers/terrorists we kill, war is multi dimensional aspect of governance and it requires lot of patience and lot of dedication. What as citizen we can do is that to support governments (be it any party) on any positive step taken to weaken the enemy state and when called for to contribute for nation do it without hesitation. I am pretty confident if current course of diplomacy continues we can get back our land with lesser bloodshed and minimal effect on our economy. Also note that few things are unpredictable so if anything else happens suddenly don't be surprised!!!

Farming: Time for big change not Freebies and loan waivers

To speak or write anything about farming is considered very sensitive in our country. Nearly 70 percent of population is connected with farming, while it contributes 18 percent of GDP but farming is more than just earning money, for many it's way of living and they are attached emotionally with it. Now a days so much of media and political outrage about farmers but no one talks about how to improve farming as a sector or as an industry. Most of the times issue of low income comes out and that too being diluted by loan waivers, have we ever thought what farmers do with this much amount of loan? Being part of farming family I know what are the core issues and I am pretty sure that the loan waiver works more like a drug addiction than a relief to farmer. They use these loans for personal expenses only in most of the case so a loan waiver is giving free money for personal expenses at the cost of hard working people who do routine job to make their living. I do believe that as do we have income tax slab for all other earning methods we must introduce taxation on farming too. This will wipe out many issues e.g. there are many people who hide their actual income under the title of farming income to evade tax, such people will find it difficult to hide their income and hence that will improve tax collection for sure. As there will be income slab no small farmer will be effected by that decision. Secondary thing is that the revenue generated by taxes on farming should be used to develop innovation centers for farming at all districts to guide farmers about new techniques and better productivity. Along with this there is need of Amul like revolution to bring food processing connectivity at each farm, as Amul collects milk from each village from their collection center why can't we go with same model for food processing industries? All these steps will enhance the income and will reduce the burden from common man too as he pays the taxes and pays the EMI of loans. Farmers are big part of our society but instead of painting farmers as poor and weak forever it's time to make them self reliant, tech savvy and getting good returns for their crops. Biggest hurdle to change the scenario is our media and politics which like to keep farmers poor so that they can exploit their votes by giving them dose of loan waivers or freebies. Let's accept the truth that earning can not come out of such steps of temporary gains. We must educate our farmers first, we have to tell them that they are starting blocks of our economy but at the same time they have to focus on earning instead of freebies. Let's build a strong self dependent nation. Share your views on it.

In search of innovative India

We had invented zero, we invented plastic surgery, we invented numbers, we invented many astrological phenomenon but all these inventions are few centuries or millennial older. As an Indian I feel proud on this rich scientific heritage but when I see recent past, current scenario and imagine nearby future it looks like India has lost its glory in promoting innovations. Whenever this issue being discussed first argument in defense come is: we are short of resources and infrastructure, we don't have big developed labs. Now just try to remember examples of some great innovations of past century, have they been forcefully innovated in a giant lab or some scientist with limited resources came up with that 'Eureka moment'? Second excuse given is of language barrier, if that is true than there were no innovations from non-english speaking nations, but surprisingly they have innovated number of things. For creating innovative culture we need social transformation first then infrastructural development. We are make celebrities from actors, cricketers and others from glamour world there is nothing wrong but how many scientists are being treated with same enthusiasm? Our society gives respect to those who has a job with handsome salary and stability, if you are working on something innovative on your own you will be considered as someone who hasn't got job hence doing something silly. This attitude has demotivated many potential minds who may have turned into great innovators. As an Indian I believe that it it true that our policies and educational systems have not done any significant work to promote culture of innovation but let's not forget that as a society we have failed first. Let us motivate those who want do some research and has bright ideas, we give lot of money to religious places so let us donate little amount to the youth who want to do something good for society with their new ideas. Also support them in their struggles and give moral support too. My dream is to see India as leading in innovation. I want to see our nation not just celebrate achievements of golden past but get same place in present. We have to come out of our colonial mindset and must accept original principles of Indian culture which leads us to find something new. All those who read this, my request to them is that support someone who wants to create or discover something new. Give them moral support at least and celebrate those who are dedicating their lives for innovations. Share your views and ideas on how we can create society of innovative minds.

My memoirs of cartoons

Being an introvert child I had not many friends during childhood. For me books and toons are like my world. After coming from school I used to finish my homework and than I go with toons for couple of hours. But when I go through cartoon channels today I find just some nonsense shows running through. Hope children now would get chance to enjoy those golden days of cartoons. I am just putting few special things about different toon shoows I have liked during childhood:

Scooby Doo: Gang of teens caught into mysterious situation and find a human trying to scare others by tricking as ghost. Special thing was scary Scooby finally finds some great solution, their identical van and wit was good to watch.

Dexter's lab: I must say that the lab shown in this show was one of my great fantasy in childhood, I always wished to have such lab.

Tom and Jerry: Let there be any age and any situation one can't resist to watch this duo. So much of humor without dialogues.

Mickey, Donald and Goofy: Well these characters are beyond any explanation that why they are loved so much.

Chip and dale show:  Cute chipmunks with their small team rescues world all the time.

SwatKats: The main attraction of show was their flying machine and their flying skills, thriller of us at that time.

Gummybears: Too childish in many way, but each episode carried very good message. But no one can forget effect of gummyberry juice.

The Popeye Show: Magic of spinach in all episodes, no storyline still loved for the end, which shows bravery of Popeye and magical quality of spinach.

Talespin: This show gave wings to imagination. Different kind of aircraft, lazy pilot and end-up with some good adventure.

Ducktales: One can forget everything about this show except money vault. That's the dream I had when someone ask how much you want to earn!!!

The Loony tunes show: If I want to describe this show in one word than it is: Madness. Yes the show filled up with just short humorous stories. Mind refresher.

Aladdin: We all wanted flying carpet and Genie (and now also wish for princess as well)

Little Mermaid: Mermaid and her adventures. I always waited for King to come with his trident and blast away villains.

Dragon ball Z: Martial arts with some godly powers, alien races fights and some witty moments.

Laugh-o-lympics: All characters from different shows come together and participate in some silly games. Just good dose of laugh really.

Adventures of Tintin: This series was awesome, even the movie showing tintin's adventures was also best one. Really thrilling show.

These many shows I can remember. Share your experience friends. I wish current cartoon channels make such great shows again.
